Oncology Yoga class with Tari Prinster focused on Balance.

Description

A Oncology Yoga class with Tari Prinster focused on Balance. This short class is just a portion of a typical full length yoga4cancer class, but works well for those who have limited time to practice. Yoga has been proven to be effective in managing short and long term side effects and improve long term health. American Cancer Society and other oncology organizations recommends a minimum of 150 minutes of yoga per week for all cancer survivors.

Why is good balance important to cancer survivors?

  • A cancer diagnosis challenges our balance… in life’s daily rhythms, physically, emotionally, even financially.
  • Treatment side effects like chemo brain, feet neuropathy, fatigue or fear of falling can contribute to feeling balance challenged.
  • In yoga we practice poses to find and help keep our balance, physically and mentally.
  • Balancing poses are challenging and take more focus than strength.
  • They also are a sure way to build bone. The simple formula to maintaining a yoga balance is a peaceful mind in a well balanced body.
